Travel Information
The symposium will be held at Strathclyde University’s Ross Priory conference venue (G83 8NL), located approximately 20 miles from Glasgow city centre by the banks of Loch Lomond.
By conference coach: Coach transfer to and from Ross Priory will be provided.
Going to Ross Priory on Thursday 17th, the coach will depart from Collins Street (Glasgow city centre, G4 0NL) at 9 am, calling at Glasgow Airport (pickup zone 3) at 9:30 am and arriving Ross Priory at 10 am.
Returning to Glasgow on Friday 18th, the coach will leave Ross Priory at 3 pm, arriving at Glasgow Airport at 3:30 pm and Glasgow city centre (Collins Street) at 4 pm.
This coach transfer timetable may be subject to variation due to traffic. For airport or other travel connections please assume that the outward times shown are the earliest departure (i.e. the coach will not leave the airport before 9:30 am on the 17th).
By rail: Glasgow Central and Queen Street Stations are located in the city centre, within 20 minutes’ walk of Strathclyde University. Incoming trains from the south mainly terminate at Central Station, which has a journey time of approximately 5 hours from London Euston. Both stations are only a short walk from the Collins Street coach stop.
By air - Glasgow Airport: Glasgow Airport is the closest airport for the conference. The conference will do a pick-up from Pick Up Zone 3 on Thursday 17th at 9:30am. On the return trip on Friday 18th, it will arrive at the airport at approximately 3:30 pm.
For those arriving earlier, the airport is connected to the city centre by a frequent bus service (no. 500) with a journey time of about 15 minutes.
